 Nirali Shastri, Dancer
Nirali Shastri holds a Bachelors in Bharatnatyam, an Indian classical dance style. At a very
young age, Nirali attained distinction of being the youngest dancer in the entire state to have
performed "Arangatrum" a two hour solo performance which is a momentous step in every
Bharatnatyam dancer's career. For two years, Nirali was an Assistant teacher at Nrityakala,
The Canadian Academy of Indian Dance (2001-2003). She was also one of the key
company dancers at Menaka Thakkar Dance Company in Toronto (2001-2003). In 2004, Nirali moved to New York and enrolled in the International Student Visa
Program at Broadway Dance Center. In 2005, she performed at the United Nations and the
Queens Museum of Art. Currently she is in the work study program at Broadway
dance center continuing education in ballet, lyrical jazz and hip hop.
