 Sanni Abu Allen, DancerSanni was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria. He came to the United States in 1998 while touring with the world renowned, UYI-EDO theater African Dance troupe, with which he was a member since the age of 15. After deciding to stay in the United States, Sanni began working with "THE SEVENTH PRINCIPLE", a professional African Dance Company. In addition to performing with the company, Sanni also teaches contemporary African dance with an emphasis on West African dances. As a member of the Brighton Ballet Theater, he has performed in the Annual Nutcracker Suite Extravaganza, which tours around the New York City metropolitan area. Sanni currently works as a teaching artist for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC). Teaching with an emphasis on traditional dances specific to his culture, Sanni is also working with the Michael Mao Dance Company. |
